Tile Program
Mini Grants
What is WTP-19?
The Hinsdale Education Foundation (HEF) is pleased to announce a project to decorate the corridor of the new elementary school addition with tiles created by the 5th grade students.
WTP19 will engage every 5th grade student in creating and signing a tile as part of a design developed by the entire class to be permanently installed on the corridor wall in the new addition.
Eight wall sections have been designated to extend this project to
include the 5th grade classes from 2019 thru 2026 assuring the
participation of every Hinsdale child currently enrolled from Pre-K to 5th grade.
This project provides a meaningful way for 5th graders to culminate their elementary school years and mark their graduation to Middle School. The significance of making a personal and permanent contribution to the building recognizes the maturity level they have achieved.
The process of collaborating as a class on setting a theme, then a design to present that theme and ultimately creating the final installation will develop skills essential to success in the higher grades and in life in general.
